A superb old hand painted Japanese pottery set of six coffee cups and saucers and a large 11 inch tab handled bowl. All are decorated with a very finely executed view of Mount Fuji in gilt. Stamped to the reverse with the maker's mark. Each cup stands about 1 5/8 inches 4cms high and has a diameter of 2 inches 5cms, whilst the saucer's diameter is 4 3/4 inches 12cms. The bowl stands about 2 3/4 inches 7cms high and measures some 11 inches 28cms across. The decoration is quite faded on most of the pieces with the saucers fairing the best. No chips, cracks or repairs. The set weighs a surprising 1.5Kgs hence the high international shipping costs.
