A Berlin made c1904 covered lion handled pot pourri vase. Impressed letter D to the underside along with a blue painted mark that looks more like 1830s but I will date to 1904 to err on the side of caution. Heavily gilded swags and lion head with hoop handles with hand painted bows to the base and pineapple form finial. Fine detail gilding to the pierced cover, lion heads and footed base. Superb Italianate period landscape and figural scenes to two sides. Some rubbing or wear to the gilding, but no chips, cracks or repairs. Some rust marks to the underside from the bolt holding the base to the vase. The pictures speak for themselves. Stands about 14 1/4 inches 36cms high and weighs 2150g unpackaged.
