A Minton Orb shaped covered bowl made to mark the Coronation of HM Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.

This is number 478 of a limited edition run of just 600.

In high quality gilt around the rim of the lower section of the orb reads To Commemorate The Crowning of Queen Elizabeth The Second June 2nd 1953.

Roses, thistles and shamrocks encircle the base. Stamped to the underside Limited issue of 600 of which this is no 478, the usual Minton stamp and signed designed by John Wadsworth.

In superb undamaged original condition. No box or certificate.

Stands about 5 1/2 inches 14cms high and weighs 500g.
