Collector plate of Trinity College Dublin Ireland. Dublin Heritage Collection. Founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I, this college has produced numerous scholars, among them Oscar Wilde, John Millington, Synge, Samuel Beckett and many others. It continues to be a major force in education, and steeped in history. It houses the famous Book of Kells and the Book of Durrow. The palladian facade so familiar to Dubliners, is attributed to Theodore Jacobsen. Manufactured by Palmer, Dublin. Bone china. Striking border of rust/orange, with scroll and petal design. Has a black and white view of the front of the college. Signed by David King. In good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures 8 1/2 inches (22 cm) in diameter, and weighs unpackaged 400 grammes.
